Jacob Van Buskirk is an historical figure.

The son of Abraham Van Buskirk and Sophia Van Dam, Jacob was a lieutenant in the loyalist New Jersey Volunteers during the American Revolution. He was sentenced to hang after the War but pardoned by Washington and banished to Nova Scotia.
